Terms of use and engagement
The conditions for using this website and requesting professional grant expenditure review work.
Effective 15 August 2026
Acceptance and scope
By using this website, you accept these terms. Website information is general and does not constitute an audit opinion, accounting, tax or legal advice. A service begins only when Buildstreambase and the client sign an engagement letter describing scope, responsibilities, fee and deliverables.
Client responsibilities
Clients must provide complete, accurate and lawful records; disclose relevant funding conditions and conflicts; nominate authorised contacts; and respond within agreed periods. Buildstreambase may rely on supplied records while retaining the right to question or verify them. Our report addresses the defined grant and period only.
Fees, scheduling and cancellation
Quotes remain open for the period stated in them. Deposits, payment milestones, cancellation and rescheduling are governed by the engagement letter and our refund policy. We may pause work when records, responses or payments are overdue.
Intellectual property
Buildstreambase retains copyright in its templates, methods and general materials. Once paid for, a client may use and share its final report for the purpose stated in the engagement. Drafts and working papers may not be represented as final opinions. Site text, graphics and branding may not be copied without written permission.
Confidentiality
We treat client records as confidential and disclose them only to authorised personnel, service providers under suitable obligations, professional advisers, or where law requires. Clients must ensure they are entitled to share personal and third-party information with us.
Liability
To the extent allowed by South African law, Buildstreambase is not liable for indirect, consequential or opportunity losses arising from website use. Liability for professional work is governed by the signed engagement letter. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, nor guarantees that a funder will accept expenditure.
Availability and external links
We aim to keep the site accurate and available but do not promise uninterrupted access. External links are provided for context; we do not control their content or privacy practices.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to South African courts with appropriate jurisdiction, after reasonable efforts to resolve the matter directly.
